Affirmations really work if you are looking for a change

I enjoy reading EBooks mostly in the fields of psychology and business. Yesterday I had some time and just spent a several minutes on reading an excellent EBook titled ‘Using affirmations for positive change’ written by anon writer. It is true ‘affirmations really work for change’. If you are looking for a change in life, then using affirmations will truly help you in doing this. Here I am just mentioning the information and the exercise provided in the book on how to use affirmations. Simple theory behind affirmations is ‘your thoughts reflect your behaviour and your behaviour changes your character’. Whenever you want change on a specific thing, you should raise positive vibrations on it. Let’s imagine you are fat and want to loose your weight. Then you should tell your conscious mind ‘I am slim and fit’. But on every occasion you looking at the mirror you feel like it is not true and therefore it is further stimulating a major doubt on it. Therefore it is better to say ‘I am becoming slim and fit’ and your conscious mind will have no means to doubt about it. Then you should repeat the positive verses several times a day. After a few months (obviously not days as it takes time) your conscious mind will start to transform this affirmation to subconscious mind. After that you will be able to see positive results on how affirmations work. The important things you must consider when practicing affirmations for change are; it is always essential to use positive verses (Ex: saying ‘I am becoming intelligent rather than saying I am not a fool’) and also it is better to use present tense (Ex: saying ‘I am becoming happy rather than saying I will be happy’) and most importantly you should believe what you are saying is true. If you think ‘this will never work’ then there is no point in wasting your time on it. Using Affirmations is just like programming you in a right way. So they work better. Next we will have a look at how they work. ‘Your mum rewarded you every time you did good things in your life by giving you chocolates. So you feel like rewarding whenever you eat chocolates since eating chocolates is connected as a reward in your subconscious mind.’ Thus eating chocolates may make you happy but this behaviour is not healthy if you are trying to loose your weight. So if this is how your subconscious mind influences your behaviour, then why you still have doubt in that you can change yourself by using affirmations. But the only thing here is that you should believe in ‘mind is the best and incomparable tool that influences yourself and therefore stimulating successes and failures of your life’.
